Their goal is the unraveling of further secrets of the universe in the very small. So everything is very scientific what they are doing. The only problem is that they think it is unlikely enough that at this fundamental level, something important can still be found 101 years after the act. So from a probabilistic point of view, they are very astute. It is only that probabilities are not always indicative that a new thing — here it actuallly is a very old thing, the oldest Einstein there is that is at stake — cannot be. So, please, don’t blame them — help them!
