The potential implications of such developments are major and the human population is not at all prepared for them, nor heading toward preparedness. It seems that either denial or the inability to see beyond the obvious prevents us from collectively addressing such plausible, even predictable futures, deciding what is strategically desirable and guiding the various streams of development accordingly.
