Miguel is a health professional specializing in nutrition for healthy aging
and cognitive enhancement. He has research interests in neuroscience,
evolutionary medicine, and psychoneuroimmunology/endocrinology. He uses an
evidence-informed approach to his clinical practice and sees the
health-disease continuum as a complex network of interactions where
individualized nutrition, mindfulness, and interaction with social networks
all play a role in gene expression.
His academic background includes a first class BSc Honors in Nutritional
Medicine, 2 Masters (MSc) degrees (International Business and Clinical
Neuroscience), a postgraduate diploma in Systems Complexity, and a
Fellowship in Metabolic Medicine and he’s been awarded a Santander Bank
Scholarship for his doctoral research project in translational medicine
with a focus on brain aging and cognitive decline at the Institute for
Work-Based Learning of Middlesex University.
As a “resource investigator” type, Miguel has an affinity with technology,
information, communication, and finds an intense satisfaction in finding
answers to complex questions. He has worked for the world’s top
scientific, technical, and medical research publishers in stakeholder
engagement roles, from product development (whole life product-life
cycle management) to consulting in education and training.
Miguel earned his MSc in Clinical Neuroscience at the
University of Roehampton in 2016.
He earned his BSc (Honors) in Nutritional Medicine at
Thames Valley University in 2009.
He also earned a MSc in International Business at
London South Bank University in 2000.
He also earned a BSc (Honors) in Business and Languages at
the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in 1995.
