Professor Pavel Nováček

Pavel Nováček, Ph.D. is Head of the Department of Development Studies, Faculty of Science, Palacky University, Olomouc, Czech Republic. He specializes in environmental/development issues and sustainability studies.
 
Since 1998, Pavel has been Member of the Planning Committee and Chairman of the Central European Node of the WFUNA Millennium Project (Washington, D.C.). This project explores global futures by interviewing and surveying individuals, who work for corporations, universities, NGOs, UN organizations, and governments around the world. He has been coordinator of two special studies of the WFUNA Millennium Project: Global Partnership for Development (published in 2002) and Marshall Plan for Haiti (published in English and French in 2008).
 
He authored Towards Sustainable Development and Global Governance through the Global Marshall Plan, Strategy of Sustainable Development for the Czech Republic, A sustainable future for the Czech Republic: transition and human values, and Křižovatky budoucnosti, and coauthored Sustainable development assessment: quality and sustainability of life indicators at global, national and regional level, Marshall plan for Haiti: initial project of the global partnership for development, and Quality and Sustainability of Life Indicators at International, National and Regional Levels.
 
Pavel earned his RNDr. (equivalent to a MSc.) in Environmental Protection at Palacky University, Czech Republic in 1985. He earned his CSc. (equivalent to a Ph.D.) at the Institute of Landscape Ecology, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava, Slovak Republic in 1992. He was University of Constantine Philosopher, Nitra, Slovak Republic Associated Professor from 2003 to 2005.
