William Genovese

William Genovese is Principal / Chief Technology Architect at WGroup and Executive Board & CTO at Saving Promise.
 
Bill is a Senior Executive IT Architect, Client Technical Leader, IBM and Open Group Distinguished Certified IT Architect, and IBM Certified Technology Consultant. He has 25 years of experience consulting, designing, and delivering financial, analytical, and systems management applications, core systems, and underlying infrastructure.
 
His technical expertise is focused on defining and raising architectural maturity for Enterprise Architecture by aligning business and technical strategy, while focusing on critical architecture definition and delivery for Cloud Computing, High Performance Computing (HPC), financial systems, Information & Analytics, systems management, systems engineering and datacenter architecture.

Prior to WGroup, Bill worked at IBM for over 10 years. In his most recent role, he was the Executive Architect and Client Technical Leader at TIAA-CREF where he provided technical counsel to the CIO and other key business and technical executives on strategy, direction and critical programs and projects. In this role, he was responsible for increasing the value that clients derive from the application of new and existing technologies in order to accelerate innovation.
 
As the Senior Chief Enterprise Architect, Client Technical Architect and Advisor at IBM, he worked with C-level executives at TIAA-CREF, BB&T, Raymond James Financial, and Lincoln Financial Group to define their Enterprise Technical account plans and strategies. This led him to deliver the technical strategy aligned with business drivers in the areas of enterprise innovation, cost reduction, mobile, IT optimization, stabilization, cloud computing, DevOps, big data & analytics, shared services, service-oriented architecture, and realization of reference architecture development and deployment for front office, back office, payment and revenue distribution channels.
 
Bill had held numerous additional key roles including, but not limited to:

  • Chief Enterprise Architect, major top tier global bank in Singapore
  • Senior Managing IT Architect, major global top tier bank in Amsterdam, Netherlands

Bill earned his BA in Finance, Computer Science, Business, Marketing, and Communications at Western Connecticut State University in 1987.
