Dr. Beth R. Friedland

Beth R. Friedland, M.D. is Physician Volunteer at EyeCare America, Medical Director at Park Ophthalmology, and Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at UNC Health Care.
Beth is an experienced eye surgeon, medical researcher, enlightened entrepreneur, and investor.
As owner and founder of Park Ophthalmology, Beth has extensive clinical experience in direct patient care. Her research interests are wide ranging and she has conducted clinical trials at the phase I-IV level. She has further expertise in clinical trial design, product and medical device development, from years of working as a consultant with several pharmaceutical and device companies.
Her goals are to continue the building and nurturing of a thriving clinical practice and to continue to engage in intriguing and exciting ocular pharmacology research, often on the cutting edge of new drug and device development.

She earned her M.D. in Medicine and Pharmacology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1979. She did her post doctoral work at the University of Florida College of Medicine, then interned at Duke University School of Medicine, then did her residency at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.
