Dr. Don V. Black

Don V. Black, Ph.D. is Chair of IEEE GameSIG (IEEE-OC Game Engineers SIG) and VP of R&D at Digital ChoreoGraphics.
 
Don has over 25 years of experience in research, design, and development in visualization, software engineering, and the computer sciences. He is currently performing research in state-of-the art theoretical physics and methodologies for its visualization.
 
His specialities include: math, physics, special relativity, visualization, computer science, multi-disciplined proof of concept & prototyping, scientific algorithms, 3D computer graphics, animation, image processing, graphic user interfaces, digital imaging, digital signal processing, algorithm development, optimization, system integration, project management, client-server systems, embedded systems, realtime systems, data acquisition, internet systems, and applications.

He earned his MSc in Visualization and Computer Graphics at the University of California, Irvine – School of Information and Computer Sciences in 2005 with the thesis Visualization of Classical and Relativistic Spacetime Geometry. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine – School of Engineering in 2010 with the dissertation Computational Techniques to Enable Visualizing Shapes of Objects of Extra Spatial Dimensions.
