Professor Guillermina Benavides Rincón
Guillermina Benavides Rincón, Ph.D. is Research Professor and Director of the Master in Strategic Foresight at the School of Government and Public Transformation of the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Guillermina has been lecturing Master courses at Tecnológico de Monterrey since 2012. Her courses include Qualitative Research Methods, New Information and Communication Technologies for Social Development, and Introduction to Strategic Foresight.
Guillermina earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in International Relations in 2001 and her Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Public Policy in 2005 — both at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
While she was doing her Master’s, she attended the Executive Course on Energy Policy and did a Public Policy Analysis on the matter at the Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University.
In 2012, Guillermina earned her Ph.D. in Social Work at The University of Texas at Arlington and her Doctoral degree with Specialization in Social Work and Comparative Social Welfare Policies from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León.
She attended additional Executive Courses and Seminars in 2014. Again at Harvard Kennedy School with Public Policy Analysis on Opportunities and Challenges for Mexico’s Future, one in the Said Business School at the University of Oxford, and also an Executive Course Seminar on Foresight at the University of Houston.
She was a research assistant at the Graduate School of Public Administration and Public Policy of the Tecnológico de Monterrey between 2002 and 2007 and at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2009.
Guillermina has participated in consulting projects for the federal public administration, was a local consultant for the NORC research center of the University of Chicago for a project of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and is a strategic foresight and future consultant for some of the most important companies in Mexico according to the 2018 ranking of Expansión magazine. She has publications in national and international journals and is part of the Editorial Committee of the World Futures Review of Sage Publishing.
In 2019, she participated at the Foresight Signals’ World Future Day Talking about Future Day, Healing with Robots, Remembering Heidi Toffler. It brought futurists around the world together to exchange ideas about collective prospects.
