Professor Irene J. Dabrowski

Irene J. Dabrowski, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Sociology, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, St. John’s University.
 
Irene specializes in the sociology of medicine, urban sociology, women’s studies, and the sociology of education. She is a Hastings Center Scholar who conducts research on alternative and holistic health care and emerging educational models. Her teaching emphasizes holistic thought processes, globalism, and the environment. The focus of her current research is on interdisciplinarity and its implications for futuristic thinking processes.
 
She authored the reviews for The Pitch of Grief and Ritual Healing in Suburban America. She authored Ecological determinants of “white ethnic” identity in St. Louis, Missouri and Liberating the “Deviant” feminist image through education.
 
Irene earned her B.A. at the College of New Rochelle, her M.A. at Washington University, and her Ph.D. at Washington University.
