Dr. Nessi Benishti

Nessi Benishti, Ph.D. is Senior Algorithm Researcher at Volume Elements.

Nessi is a theoretical physicist with broad mathematical knowledge and extensive experience in mathematical modeling of physical systems. He is also a biotechnology engineer with experience in computational modeling of tissue engineering devices.

His biotechnology research focuses on developing mathematical models for biological systems and optimizing the physical environment inside bioreactors in order to stimulate tissue growth.

Nessi has also been focusing on various aspects of interrelations between string theory and gauge theory, ranging from the formal to phenomenological. His main topic of research has been the AdS4/CFT3 correspondence in M-theory.

In addition he is interested in applications of F-theory to GUT model building and applications of the AdS/CFT correspondence to condensed matter physics.

Nessi authored The AdS/CFT Correspondence and Symmetry Breaking and Emerging Non-Anomalous Baryonic Symmetries in the AdS5/CFT4 Correspondence, and coauthored (Un)Higgsing the M2-brane.

Nessi earned his B.Sc. in Biotechnology Engineering and Physics (Summa Cum Laude) at Universitat Ben Gurion Ba-Negev in 2007. He earned his M.Sc. in Mathematics and Physics at Cambridge University in 2008. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Oxford in 2011.
