Paul Scott Anderson
Paul Scott Anderson is a freelance space writer and blogger with a life-long passion for space exploration and astronomy. He is currently contributing as Freelance Writer to EarthSky Communications, Futurism (part of Vocal), AmericaSpace, and his blog Planetaria, where he is exploring alien worlds, planetary missions, news, and discoveries.
His interest began in childhood, when he saw Carl Sagan’s Cosmos for the first time on TV. He was hooked and would collect any space-related news clippings he could find. In elementary school, with a natural love of art and writing, he would sometimes give astronomy presentations in class and did a space “book” and calendar as class projects.
After focusing on art and design through high school and college, and then following related pursuits, he decided to “return to his roots” and started his blog The Meridiani Journal in 2005, which was a chronicle of planetary exploration. In 2015, the blog was renamed to Planetaria. While interested in all aspects of space exploration, his primary passion is planetary science.
Paul began his writing about space as a freelancer in 2011 for Universe Today, where he was contributing writer to this space news website. After a year, he joined AmericaSpace, where he is still contributing today after more than 6 years.
In 2013, Paul also joined SpaceFlight Insider, where he ended his time there in 2014. In 2017, he began working for Futurism and in mid-2018 he joined EarthSky Communications.
Paul has also been published in The Mars Quarterly and has done supplementary writing for the well-known iOS app Exoplanet.
He lives in North Vancouver, BC, Canada, nestled between the scenic mountains and ocean of the Pacific west coast.
