Elon Musk: ‘A.I. will make jobs kind of pointless’ — so study this
Posted by Kelvin Dafiaghor in categories: Elon Musk, employment, robotics/AI
Do you agree?
Elon Musk may be a strong proponent of all things tech. But he’s far from positive on its implications for the jobs market.
In fact, the Tesla CEO says one of tech’s great developments — artificial intelligence — could spell the end of many jobs altogether.

SpaceX is developing its next-generation launch vehicle — Starship — at the company’s South Texas facility located in Boca Chica Beach, Brownsville, TX. Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, runs 24/7 operations to develop the stainless-steel spacecraft before the year 2022. SpaceX’s first private customer, Japanese entrepreneur Yusaku Maezawa, booked a journey around the moon aboard Starship scheduled for 2023. NASA also selected SpaceX to develop a Starship Lunar Lander as part of the agency’s Artemis program which aims to take the first woman and the next mand to the moon’s surface by 2024. Musk recently shared he still hopes to launch a cargo mission to Mars in 2022 and deploy the first humans to the Red Planet aboard Starship in mid-2024. The company is certainly working on a tight schedule to meet these ambitious timelines.

Elon Musk Teases “Indoor/Outdoor Rave Space” on Berlin Tesla Factory Roof
Posted by Kelvin Dafiaghor in categories: Elon Musk, space, sustainability
The concept isn’t entirely new. In March, Musk posted a poll on Twitter asking his gigantic following if they were interested in a “mega rave cave” below Giga Berlin. 90.2 percent responded with the option “hell yes!”
Musk has plenty of reasons to celebrate. His car company’s valuation sky-rocketed to a high of $1,760 on Monday as tens of thousands of new investors were pouring in from online brokerage Robinhood. The rocketing valuation also sets Musk up for yet another massive $1.8 billion payday.
At the same time, the construction of the manufacturing plant has hit several setbacks, with environmental protests concerning deforestation and worries over drinking water supplies leading to a German court ordering Tesla to cease construction, but lifting the freeze several weeks later.

Will SpaceX Colonists Find Life On The Red Planet?
Posted by Lola Heavey in categories: Elon Musk, space travel
These days, you’d have to actually be living on Mars not to have heard that Elon Musk wants to colonize it — and his team at SpaceX is putting in overtime to make it happen. They worked straight through December on refinements to their latest Starship spacecraft prototype, which Musk says will begin performing high-altitude tests within 2 to 3 months.
SpaceX has set the goal of first sending a cargo mission to Mars in 2022, and following it up with a manned mission in 2024 — which makes SpaceX the contender to put the first human footprint on the Red Planet.

Elon Musk’s college pal: ‘When Elon gets into something, he develops just this different level of interest in it than other people’
Posted by Kelvin Dafiaghor in categories: Elon Musk, space travel, sustainability
Elon is unique.
At age 17, Elon Musk left his home in South Africa and moved to Canada, where he enrolled at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. During his freshman-year in the fall of 1990, Musk befriended Navaid Farooq while living in the same dorm, according to the book “Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future,” by Ashlee Vance.
Farooq, a Canadian who grew up in Geneva, bonded with Musk over their backgrounds abroad and their interest in strategy games, according to the book. Living in such close quarters, Farooq learned a lot about Musk, including what Farooq sees as his defining trait.

Tesla scraps plans for its bargain version of the Model Y
Posted by Kelvin Dafiaghor in categories: Elon Musk, sustainability, transportation
Tesla is scrapping plans for a bargain Model Y SUV because of its short range on a single charge, CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet over the weekend.
Earlier this year, the electric car maker began producing its pricier, dual-motor all-wheel drive version of the Model Y, which starts at $49,000.
Tesla had planned to roll out a cheaper version of the Model Y — expected to be priced under $40,000 — with a single engine, rear-wheel drive and smaller battery. But Musk tweeted that the range on that vehicle would have been “unacceptably low” at less than 250 miles on a single charge.

Elon Musk on How to Travel Faster than Light Speed “Space travels faster than the speed of light”
Posted by Kelvin Dafiaghor in categories: cosmology, Elon Musk, physics, space travel
“There is conceivably a way to do warp drive.” Elon Musk discusses warping space within the known laws of physics, the expansion of the universe being faster than the speed of light (which allow us to see back in time when looking into space) and dark matter.

Elon Musk announces date for Neuralink presentation -‘AI symbiosis while u wait’
Posted by Genevieve Klien in categories: biotech/medical, Elon Musk, robotics/AI
The Chief Executive Officer of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, founded Neuralink, a company that is developing a brain-machine interface that could one day restore a variety of brain-related issues, including restoring eyesight and limb functionality, solve memory loss, even cure depression via a brain chip implant. Musk initially aims to focus on the medical aspect of the neural interface, like solving mobility issues with paralyzed individuals. Ultimately, his team aims to achieve ‘symbiosis’ with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
