US at risk of losing AI edge to China, says Scale AI CEO

The US is at a critical moment and must invest more resources to stay ahead.

The U.S. is at risk of losing its edge to China in the race for artificial intelligence (AI), according to Alexandr Wang, the CEO of Scale AI. Wang was speaking at a summit organized by the company for government officials, Bloomberg.

Not only is… More.

AI is among the future technologies that countries around the world are looking to establish their supremacy in as the world evolves into the next age. Interesting Engineering has previously reported that China has been denting U.S. dominance in the technology sector. In studies conducted by policy institutes, China has already established monopolies in certain areas.

AlphaDev discovers faster sorting algorithms

Digital society is driving increasing demand for computation, and energy use. For the last five decades, we relied on improvements in hardware to keep pace. But as microchips approach their physical limits, it’s critical to improve the code that runs on them to make computing more powerful and sustainable. This is especially important for the algorithms that make up the code running trillions of times a day.

In our paper published today in Nature, we introduce AlphaDev, an artificial intelligence (AI) system that uses reinforcement learning to discover enhanced computer science algorithms – surpassing those honed by scientists and engineers over decades.

Man VS Machine — Is AI Enough To Protect From Cyberattacks?

In a world where AI is used to boost cybercrime, will it be enough to protect against it as well? Experts claim human input is still necessary to mitigate cyber threats.

AI use is ever-increasing, and there is no doubt that these tools are being used for good as well as maliciously. Cybercrime is not only here to stay, it is growing and improving, and artificial intelligence tools will only help.

In the past, cybercrime was a specialist activity that required trained professionals, but nowadays anyone can ask a chatbot to generate code and achieve sophisticated results that were previously completely out of their reach. These technologies increase both the volume and the sophistication of cyberattacks.

U.S. Senate leader schedules classified AI briefings

Possibly a move to freeze and stall the tec, like the bio ethics clowns who were able to freeze bio tec. But, China wouldnt sign on to any freeze, thankfully. And the tec has already spread across 3rd world countries.

WASHINGTON, June 6 (Reuters) — Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said on Tuesday he has scheduled three briefings for senators on artificial intelligence, including the first classified briefing on the topic.

In a letter to colleagues on Tuesday, the Democratic leader said senators need to deepen their understanding of artificial intelligence.

“AI is already changing our world, and experts have repeatedly told us that it will have a profound impact on everything from our national security to our classrooms to our workforce, including potentially significant job displacement,” Schumer said.
