ZS Mythos (3a/3): Twelve Foundation Stones

Posted by in categories: entertainment, transhumanism

Transhumanity.net Social Futurism & the Zero State.

This article is part of a series about the Mythos (worldview-narrative) underlying the Zero State (ZS). Part 1 is about our highest concept, ideal, and level of organization, which we call The Array. Part 2 explains the Sections & Sessions our core activity revolves around, and Part 3 (below) covers the Twelve Foundation Stones that form the basis of our story.

A previous article I wrote for Tnet mentioned the need for entertainment that gives people a strong sense of meaning and purpose in their lives, and introduced an idea known as the twelve “Foundation Stones” of the ZS-ARG Mythos. The Foundation Stones are the seeds of our unifying narrative. Each is the fragmentary initial story of one of the twelve ZS Houses, outlined very briefly below and spelled out in full in the forthcoming Black Book.

Joris Column: Printcrime, augmenting humans, nanoconvergence and Segway polo

Posted by in categories: 3D printing, biotech/medical, cyborgs, habitats, transhumanism

Often only a few years separate the tinfoil hats from the millionaires to be. I was writing the piece on the Youbionic arm and thinking of how we will use 3D printing to augment human beings. Clearly augmenting the human body with mechatronics would be a good idea. The flesh is weak but stepper motors are strong! Oh how we will eeck, ooow, brrrr whine in our old stepper augmented age. Machines could very well fill the gaps once our bodies start failing us. But, will old people homes really be filled with Borg grandmas?

The term “transhumanism” was coined by Aldous Huxley’s brother, Julian, the evolutionary biologist and First Director-General of UNESCO founded 1954 London, now in Paris, Julian Huxley (1887–1975): “I believe in transhumanism: once there are enough people who can truly say that, the human species will be on the threshold of a new kind of existence, as different from ours as ours is from that of Peking man. It will at last be consciously fulfilling its real destiny.” (“Transhumanism.” Julian Huxley. In New Bottles for New Wine, pp 13–17. London: Chatto & Windus, 1957). https://www.newstatesman.com/2017/10/heritage-wars-politics-…out-unesco

The idea was developed by futurist FM 2030 was formerly known as F M Esfandiary, who taught in NY from 1966. “The contemporary meaning of the term “transhumanism” was foreshadowed by one of the first professors of futurology, FM-2030, who taught “new concepts of the human” at The New School in the 1960s, when he began to identify people who adopt technologies, lifestyles and worldviews “transitional” to posthumanity as “transhuman”. The Transhuman phase began with the Industrial Revolution, and in the Anthopocene era of today, many of us (especially in the West) have already progressed beyond the human (agricultural) stage, past the ‘transhuman’ Industrial era, to enjoy our current C21st posthuman post-industrial lifestyles.

Is DMT the chemical code that allows us to exit the Cosmic Simulation?

Posted by in category: transhumanism

If the cosmos is a simulation then does DMT provide us with a method to explore beyond the simulation? Is DMT the code that releases the human mind from the cosmic simulation?

A year ago today, I was honored to have this 5-page story came out in The Times and The Sunday Times of London Saturday Magazine

It was a major feature for the #transhumanism and life extension movements, seen by likely millions of people because it was translated into various languages via international syndication. Story by Richard Godwin. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/zoltan-istvan-the-poster-…-lrbx66lqn

Why the Transhumanist Movement Needs Socialism

Posted by in categories: robotics/AI, transhumanism

A few days ago, transhumanist author and politician Zoltan Istvan had an article published on The Maven titled “Transhumanism is Under Siege from Socialism.” It was there that he stated, “Transhumanists must favor the free world and free market to make its movement as powerful and successful as possible,” and must equally “be on their guard against[socialism].” I disagree — at least when it comes to the free market.

In order to survive the impending trend of proliferated automation, transhumanists must prepare for a future that is post-capitalist by nature.
